Folkform
Designer
Swedish designers Anna Holmquist and Chandra Ahlsell began their partnership in 2005. Together they work as Folkform and share a common fascination with materials. Only five years old, the Stockholm-based studio is already represented in the the Swedish National Art collection, which acquired a marble cabinet from their 2008 Unique Standard collection.
Ahlsell and Holmquist met while completing an MA in industrial design at Konstfack College of Art, Craft and Design in Stockholm. Their bond was further strengthened when they both returned to Stockholm after studying abroad, Ahlsell at the Pratt Institute in New York and Holmquist at Goldsmiths in London and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark. The duo’s goal is to bring poetry into mass produced objects. Their work revolves around experimenting with materials, particularly the everyday.
