idyll

Chair
"Dream about an idyllic place…"
Many hours, many days, many weeks and years have women in older generations spent on embroidery to catch an idyll view. Many with dreams to be a part of that life with a nice little red cottage close to the water and Bambi watching over us.
These stitches and dreams are for most people forgotten and thrown away to an eternal lost never to been appreciated. This furniture’s destiny is to elevate and promote these neglected pieces of art, bring back a long lost sentimental value and mix it with contemporary ecstatic from Johan Lindstén.
There is a struggle within myself as a designer that I am continuously fighting, my roll as a designer is to create new interesting designs but at the same time I am really sentimental and fond of old beautiful objects. This furniture is also an attempt to combine these two desires.
PASCAL: The chairs are limited to 10 pieces. Each one has a special landscape motiv from Sweden and therefore the size of the chairs will vary a bit according to the shape of the scenery. Johan Lindstén is using beautiful original emborderies from his grand-mother. The name of the chairs series is “idyll”.
